I am currently taking Photo 2100 (Long Term Projects) in the photography program at the College of Dupage. For the longest time I have been interested in the mom and pop motels that you seldom see near the interstate system.  Typically they are on US highways, which prior to the interstate system, built in the 60’s, were the only method of long distant travel in the United States, if you were going by car.   Today, most motels are owned by major corporations or their franchise partners.  Travel bypasses these independent motels and many have already disappeared.  My long term project is to document some of these establishments while they are still here.  Below is an example taken in Gibson City, Illinois.  More images to follow in the future.
