Sept. 22nd 2017 The final stop of our North Atlantic trip was the city of Quebec in Quebec, Canada. We traveled to Montreal, but only to take a bus ride to the airport for the flight home.
Sept. 16th 2017 The Viking Sky traveled through the Prince Christian Sound in Greenland. The images below do not really allow you to get the feeling of actually being there. Look for building in some images and the boat in one to give you an idea just how steep the mountains are. Some over 1200 meters in height.
Sept. 14th 2017 A stop at Þingvellir National Park was included on our Golden Circle tour out of Reykjavik. Þingvellir National Park is a World Heritage Site The park lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American tectonic plate and the Eurasian.
Sept. 14th 2017 – Our ship landed in Reykjavik Iceland. We traveled to our first stop which was a geothermal power station. Both steam and hot water were extracted from below ground. The steam was used to generate electricity and heat exchangers were used to heat freshwater for use in Reykjavik and the ground water was pumped back underground.
