May 21st 2023 – Haifa Israel – Old City of Acre (Okko)

Today we traveled from Haifa in the opposite direction from Caesarea to Acre. It was about 30 min drive around to the other side of the bay.  We spent about 3+ hours visiting the sites which include the ancient city that was formally buried by sand. The old structures were underground to the more modern structures and have been restored.  We also walked in the tunnel that Templars used to bypass portions of the city that was not under their control. We also visited the  city markets.  

This was our last stop on our Viking Cruise  before heading home.  We had a day at sea then we arrived in Athens to board our plane for the flight home.
