20230904 – Portland UK

We arrive much earlier at Portland than planned so even though we were in port,  tours did not start until later in the day.

Our tour was to Stonehenge.  It was a 6 hour tour.  Two hour drive there, two hours at the site and a two hour trip back to the ship.

Leaving the port, we saw one of the rigs for putting up wind mills in the ocean and next to it floating housing for oil rig workers.  The housing had been converted in to housing for immigrants seeking asylum.

Big floating cement blocks in the port we used in the WWII landing at Normandy and brought back as a memorial.

Becky thought Stonehenge was smaller than she believed it would be and in fact is seemed that way when you arrive but then you are nearly 50 yards away at the closest. You realize how big it really is went people are included in the image to give it size.
